Privacy Policy

Kompete is a vendor opportunity, outreach, booking, and contact management tool for small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how users can request deletion.
Information We Collect
We may collect account information such as name, email address, profile picture URL, business description, service area, and preferences entered by the user. If a user signs in with Facebook, we request basic public profile information. Email address is optional and may be saved from account settings.
Users may add business contacts, notes, event details, vendor opportunities, outreach drafts, and booking information. When business card scanning is used, the card image is processed temporarily to extract contact details and then deleted after extraction or failure.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate the service, identify relevant vendor opportunities, generate summaries and outreach drafts, manage contacts and bookings, authenticate users, improve the product, and provide support.
AI Processing
Kompete may send user-provided business descriptions, public/social post text collected from configured sources, outreach drafts, and temporary business card images to AI service providers such as OpenAI for analysis, extraction, and drafting. Business card image files are not retained after extraction.
Analytics
If a Google Analytics Measurement ID is saved in Settings, Kompete loads Google's tag on site pages to understand how the product is used. Google may set cookies and collect device, browser, and usage data under Google's terms. Leave the Measurement ID blank to keep analytics off.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers needed to operate the app, such as hosting, authentication, AI processing, database, email, logging, and security providers.
Data Retention
We retain account, contact, opportunity, booking, and configuration data while the account is active or as needed to provide the service. Users may request deletion as described on the Data Deletion page.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS in hosted environments, secret management, and access controls. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.
Children
Kompete is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
